Bulldogs claim pair of victories

BRENHAM, Texas—Texarkana College used a five-run inning to win two games Saturday.

The Bulldogs scored five runs in the fifth inning to knock off Navarro, 7-1.

TC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but Navarro cut the Bulldogs lead in half with a run in the fourth. Texarkana’s offense exploded in the fifth inning to secure the victory.

Taylor Nichols finished with a double and two RBI to pace the TC offense. John Stilson threw a complete-game six hitter, allowing no earned runs. Stilson fanned eight and allowed no walks.

Texarkana College used a five-run sixth inning to drop Wharton, 7-1.

After Wharton pushed across a run in the fourth to take the early lead, TC evened the game up in the fifth win a run.

The Bulldogs exploded for five runs the following frame to seal the victory.

Trey Buck and Nichols each had a double.

Tanner Bailey earned his second win of the season, hurling a complete game and striking out six.

The wins improve Texarkana College’s record to 6-3 on the season.
